Welcome to Your PPA State Blog
May 19th, 2008
Greetings,
My name is Randy Castonguay and I am the Massachusetts Director for the Poker Players Alliance. Massachusetts has been a ”hotbed” of activity over the past year, but thanks, in part, to key lobbying efforts on behalf of the PPA, we have been able to stave off legislation that would have made playing poker online a felony. In March, the PPA and the Global Poker Strategic Thinking Society teamed up and held a pro-poker rally on Beacon Hill. This rally sent the message to lawmakers that poker players in Massachsetts were not going to sit idly by and watch as their rights to play poker were stripped away one by one.
So far, our mission here in Massachusetts has been successful and we must stay ever vigilent in order to ensure that our rights are not taken from us. Be sure to sign up for the PPA e-mail alerts so that we can contact you when key legislation is in the making that we either support or we not support. In those e-mail alerts, the PPA will give you specific “calls to action” instructing you who to contact and what you should say.
Remember, the PPA is “YOUR” voice when it comes to any legislation that may effect your rights to play poker. We are an action committee, which means that it will take certain “action” on your part to be an effective member. Together we can make a difference!
All In,
Randy Castonguay – Massachusetts Director; Poker Players Alliance
